When you request information about or apply for solar panel systems or solar panel system financing, we collect information about you, including Personal Information. “Personal Information” means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or household, or as defined by applicable law. We collect several types of information from and about users of the Site, including the following information:
- Personal Information: Personal Information by which you may be personally identified, such as name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, date of birth, or any other identifier by which you may be contacted online or offline;
- Proof of identity (e.g., Social Security Number (possibly limited to the last four digits), National Identity Number, Driver's License number/document, Passport number or document);
- Financial details (e.g., your credit score and history; account balances and payment history; credit card or bank account information; income and tax information; residence type, individual and household annual income, current mortgage details);
- Household Energy Usage Information: Information regarding your household solar system when you purchase a system from us or from one of our distributors. The information you may provide us with includes personal data about you or your household, such as the energy produced, energy utilized, and time of day the energy was utilized.
- Your product purchase history.
- Non-Personally Identifying Information: Information that is about you but alone does not individually identify you; and/or
- Connection Information: Information about your internet connection, the equipment you use to access the Site, and usage details.
We collect this information:
- Directly from you when you provide it to us.
- Automatically as you navigate through the Site. Information collected automatically may include usage details, IP addresses, and information collected through cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technologies.
- From third parties (for example, our business partners).
Information You Provide to Us
The information we collect on or through the Site may include:
- Information that you provide by filling in forms on the Site. This includes information provided at the time of registering to use the Site, subscribing to our service, requesting a quote, or requesting further information or services. We may also ask you for information when you report a problem with the Site.
- Application: If you submit an application to finance a solar product from us or finance a product through an independent entity, we will collect Personal Information from you, such as your contact information, proof of identity, financial details, employment details, and energy usage. We use this Personal Information to assess your eligibility for the financial product applied for and to otherwise process your application.
- Online account: If you sign up or use an Bamboo Tech application or service, we collect the Personal Information you provide to create a profile, account, collect payment, or to receive information about the performance of your system or Empower Energy products. This may include your contact information, financial details, or energy usage.
- Payments: If you make a payment to us, either directly or through one of our approved service providers, we collect information necessary to process the transaction and validate your identity. This may include your contact information and financial details. When you use an Bamboo Tech-approved service provider to make a payment, your use of the service is subject to that service provider's Terms and Conditions and Privacy Notice.
- Records and copies of your correspondence (including email addresses) if you contact us.
- Your responses to surveys that we might ask you to complete for research purposes.
- Details of transactions you carry out through the Site and of the fulfillment of your orders. You may be required to provide financial information to obtain a quote for services from the Site.
- Your search queries on the Site.
- Your Household Energy Usage Information when you purchase an Bamboo Tech system.
Information we Collect from Third Parties
Throughout the course of our relationship with you, we may receive Personal Information from third parties in order to provide you information about our solar financing products, process your application for a financing product, or to otherwise manage your account with us. These third parties include:
- Third Parties with whom we have a relationship: Bamboo Tech may receive your Personal Information, such as your contact information and financial details from third parties with whom we have a relationship, including our authorized independent dealers, home builders, and other service providers that assist us with providing lease or financing products to you, including in connection with the underwriting, e.g. approval of those products or the servicing of those products. This information is collected from third parties to determine whether you are interested in and qualify for Empower Energy solar panel financing options and whether that option is right for you.
- Third Parties whom you authorize to provide us information: Third parties from which Bamboo Tech may receive Personal Information may include our escrow agents, mortgage brokers, real estate agents, your energy company/provider, or individuals authorized to act on your behalf, including pursuant to a power of attorney, whom you authorize to provide information to us on your behalf, including in connection with the sale of your home.
- Financial institutions and consumer reporting agencies: In accordance with applicable law, we may receive your Personal Information, such as your contact information and financial details, from third-party financial institutions and credit reporting agencies who assist us in processing your Personal Information and assessing your eligibility for a solar panel lease/financing product or service. We use consumer reports in accordance with applicable laws.
- Co-applicants: We may also collect your Personal Information from co-applicants or coowners of a dwelling associated with your installation, which may include your contact information, proof of identity, financial details, employment details, and energy usage.
Information We Collect Through Automatic Data Collection Technologies
As you navigate through and interact with the Site, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns, including:
- Details of your visits to the Site, including traffic data, location data, logs, and other communication data, and the resources that you access and use on the Site.
- Information about your computer and internet connection, including your IP address, operating system, and browser type.
We also may use these or third-party technologies to collect information about your online activities over time and across third-party websites or other online services (behavioral tracking). - To provide you with information, products, or services that you request from us.
- To present the Site and its contents to you.

- To provide you with notices about your account, including expiration and renewal notices.
- To carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including for billing and collection.

- To a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Bamboo Tech’s assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by Bamboo Tech about the Site users is among the assets transferred.
- To third parties to market their products or services to you if you have consented to these disclosures. To opt out of communications from us or third parties, please follow the “Unsubscribe” instructions at the bottom of each email.

Accessing and Correcting Your Information

We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.
California residents may have additional personal information rights and choices.
Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a resident of California, the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") provides you with specific rights regarding your Personal Information. These include:
- Information about Collection, Sale or Disclosure: You have the right to be informed of the categories of Personal Information that we collect about you, the categories of sources from which the Personal Information was collected, the business or commercial purposes for which the Personal Information is used, disclosed, or sold, and the categories of third parties with whom we share the Personal Information, as set forth in this Policy.

- Deletion Request Rights: You have the right to request that we delete any of your Personal Information that we collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptions.
- Personal Information Sales Opt-Out Rights: You have the right to opt out of the sale of your Personal Information. Bamboo Tech DOES NOT SELL PERSONAL INFORMATION ABOUT YOU.
- Non-Discrimination: Unless permitted by applicable law, we will not discriminate against
you for exercising any of your privacy rights under CCPA or applicable law, including:
- Denying you goods or services;
- Charging you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through the use of discounts or other benefits or imposing penalties;
- Providing you a different level of quality of goods or services; or
- Suggesting that you will receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level of quality of goods or services.
- Designating a Third-Party to Act on Your Behalf - In order to designate a third party to act on your behalf, that person must be registered with the California Secretary of State and must have valid written evidence of authority from you to act on your behalf, e.g., a validly executed power of attorney or some other written, notarized documentation that they can provide to Empower Energy. Absent such documentation, Empower Energy reserves the right to refuse to comply with third-party requests for information.
- Verifying Your Requests - During the verification process, depending on the nature of your request, e.g. whether you are seeking access to information versus deleting information, we will first seek to verify your identity against known information in our environment, such as your name, e-mail address, and telephone. Upon receiving your request, we may also contact you via a known email, telephone and/or other secured communication channel to verify your identity. In certain instances, e.g. a mismatch against known information or where you are seeking information on behalf of another person with authorization, we may seek additional verification from you, which may be in the form of you providing a copy of a valid, government-issued identification or a notarized attestation.
Children's Online Privacy Protection Act compliance
We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act), we do not collect any information from anyone under 18 years of age. Our Site, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 18 years old or older.
Changes to Our Privacy Policy
It is our policy to post any changes we make to our privacy policy on this page with a notice that the privacy policy has been updated on the Site home page.
